Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck split after 10 years of marriage

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have split after 10 years of marriage, the couple confirmed in a statement to People magazine..

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple told People in a joint statement. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."

Affleck, 42, and Garner, 43, met on the set of the 2003 film "Daredevil" and have three children: Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.

Garner was previously married to "Scandal" actor Scott Foley from 2000 to 2004.

Affleck is a pretty outspoken liberal, so I tend not hate him myself. Now, if I find out he's been having multiple affairs, has been abusive and is leaving her for a 21 year old assistant, I would change my mind.

However, I have an irrational peeve about actors who meet on a set and then get involved. I mean, are they never gonna work again? It's like a summer fling that ends in marriage.

7. The speculation on the internet is gawd awful.

I did wonder why he backed out of that movie with Kristen Stewart. Not that I think anything had happened, but I suspect that after Ms. Stewart's indiscretion with her older director, it's possible that Jennifer Garner didn't feel comfortable with the pairing. Sounds like their marriage had its difficulties for a while.

Very discrete couple, I have to say. It has taken me by surprise.
