African Moon Moth lays eggs in reporter's ear during live shot

http://www.sfgate.com/national/article/African-Moon-Moth-lays-eggs-in-reporter-s-ear-6158884.php

FOX 5's Bob Barnard was doing a live interview earlier this week at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History in Washington when an African Moon Moth decided to raise a family in his ear canal.

Having insect larvae crawl down your Eustachian tube can be disconcerting. If you've ever seen "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan," you know what we mean.

Barnard, the consummate professional, quipped that the bug was "mating with my earlobe." Actually it was more like turning his ear into a moth maternity ward. When Argema mimosae flew off, he found two eggs left behind.

We would have run screaming for a Q-tip.
