A murderer on the loose, someone creeping in our back yard a few nights ago.....and I leave an engraved invitation to come right in!!!
My husband found them as he left for work this morning. He's going to be teasing me mercilessly about this, and I can't blame him.
My pathetic excuse is that I work 12 hour days on Mondays and yesterday was especially intense. I came home utterly exhausted, to find out that I couldn't get in the door because our big dog had pushed a bunch of stuff in front of it! I had to call through the crack to my husband to clear the way. In the process, I apparently forgot my keys were still in the door.....

Good morning! [img][/img] Calm down.

(27,223 posts)100+ pounds of puppy-ish enthusiasms, even though he's well into middle-age in dog years.
He's just smart enough to get himself into trouble. But he's got such a sweet disposition you can't stay mad at him.

I've done that, not with an active man-hunt in the area that I know of, though.
Best wishes going forward.

This one was just particularly ill-timed.

(14,881 posts)You are not alone. And exhaustion, piles of stuff (in my case, in my arms), and big dogs play into it for sure!

(6,261 posts)One time, the Shuttle Express van showed up early, causing me to be disorganised and rushed, and I accidentally left the front door unlocked for an entire month.
I've also accidentally left an expensive racing bike out front all night. It was still there the next day.
I suppose we live in pretty safe neighbourhood.

(35,825 posts)Last night, too!!
And of course, this being NJ, there's a murderer just about anywhere you want to look. There was a terrorist/ serial killer murderer camped out in the woods behind my house only a year ago. He's in jail now, but who knows, there could be another one and we'd never know 'cuz in my town, they keep this type of thing under wraps until they catch the person. I was horrified when I learned this guy had pitched a tent in the woods, less than a quarter of a mile from me.
My only saving grace would be that to get into my area, the poor b@$#ard would have to fall down over branches and fall into groundhog holes to get here.

(And there must be something in the air: I just rode home from the store--my wife was driving--with my keys dangling from the trunk lock... )

this is like collateral damage, an unintended (or really Intended) consequence of the Murderer.
While he killed he also stole a lot of people's Peace of Mind.
Take care, Coventina
