I heard about this on the Skeptic's Guide to the Universe podcast this weekend. Remember dot-matrix printers? Remember the noise they made? Some clever person created a program that turned those sounds to music. Here it is playing Eye of the Tiger.

(6,261 posts)I bought 3 5 1/4" floppy drives for a dollar each the other day, assuming at least one of them would work well enough to get some data off of some old disks. Turns out they all work fine and 99% of my 30 year old floppies were still readable, even the single sided ones I had turned into double sided ones with a scissors! Amazing technology!
