Have never watched more than 30 seconds of CAGE and never will. DOWNEY seemed to be authentic in Chaplin, and I would never watch any of his recent junk like Sherlock Holmes-as-action-hero, but where he really revealed himself as the empty DOLT he is was when he guested on the Graham NORTON talk show, where DOLTS cannot survive in the setting of WIT. Another one who failed brutally in NORTON's show was Dennis HOPPER, who was completely inarticulate.
So FRASIERFRASER was great in The Quiet American and in Gods and Monsters, and carries off the action thing in the Mummy moments I've seen in passing, and good at comedy in Bedazzled. He's better than DOWNEY and CAGE!1 So there!1
On Edit: "fraser" not "frasier." And, whoa, Wiki says he has not been granted a star on the Hollywood walk of fame (yes, one in Canada; U.S. born of Canadian parents), and double whoa filed court papers asking for reduction of child support claiming he can't afford $900K per yr.

(10,112 posts)Hi,
I loved loved loved him in Raising Arizona, I thought he was pretty awesome in Peggy Sue Got Married too. Not sure what happened with him, got into the whole stupid action movies, guess that is where the money is. I will watch some of Con Air when it is on tv just because it is so dumb in an entertaining way.
Peace

(42,001 posts)Not that I couldn't be wrong. I happen to like Downey, but he has a style and his roles play to it. Only thing I liked Fraser in was Gods and Monsters, and that was ALL Ian McKellan.

(63,259 posts)Hated--by which I mean HATED--his Mummy movies. Terrible.
His career has been a parade of garbage with three or four moments of excellence.
