Hi guys
Ok so it's taken a bit of time for me to get these all online. The main thing is that I decided to upload ALL of my photos to Flickr after finding out they now give you a terabyte for free. That took a few days. Then I purchased light room and had have been playing around with it these past few days, developing my favourite shots from Kauai. So what I have here are 31 of my fav shots that I have developed with Lightroom. You can see those here:

As well I've made all 400+ shots public if anyone's interested in just browsing through them, these are full res. If you want to get a better feel of Hawaii itself you might want to take a look at a few of those cause I didn't devlop many of the beach shots just cause I didn't like them for one reason or another:

And below are some direct posts of a few of my favs from the developed set:
Feel free to comment or whatever.
I've got a bunch of panoramas that I plan to stitch together later too, I'll post some of those later if any of them turn out ok.

(6,154 posts)I've been to other paradises in my life, Belize, lived in Malaysia for a year, other parts of the tropics. But Hawaii definitely takes the cake so far in terms of a visual feast. I wish it had some of the culture of the other places I've visited but that's nit picking, and in fact it's the most livable of them. I'd like to fins some way of moving there some do to tell you the truth but that's very difficult.

(6,011 posts)I'm really tired and about to go to bed, but will continue to look at more in your Flickr album tomorrow.
I thought I recognized the Passion flower, so googled images of passion flowers- wow! I never knew how many variations and color combinations there are. They are psychedelic.
Did you visit a cocoa plantation?
Locut0s
(6,154 posts)I was on a hike when I saw this on the ground. It startled the hell out of me because I've never seen a flower like that in my life, like something extraterrestrial. I had to go to Google to find out what the heck it was.
The cocoa plant is actually from a visit to the National Tropical Botantial Gardens on the south side of Kauai. This cocoa plant was just growing along the side of one of the trails.

(28,394 posts)I love the one of the misty mountains.
Locut0s
(6,154 posts)Yes the mountains are spectacular. Most of the ones you see in my album are shots along the famed Napali Coast. A few are from the north of the island. The one I posted is a shot looking down one of the canyons of the Napali Coast. The mist and lighting conditions are constantly changing here and you get these wonderful sun drenched tapestries.

Thank you!

(6,154 posts)Indeed colour, texture, form and how they play off each other, are 3 of my primary motivators when shooting.

(3,998 posts)I love Kauai! I'm going back again in Sept. I'm bringing a girlfriend who has never been to Hawaii. Boy, is she in for a treat. We are staying up on the N. shore right on the beach...for a week. I look forward to more of your pics!
