It was pretty cool. Kind of hard to spoil it since everyone knows it's about a worldwide zombie outbreak, but read no further if you don't want any spoilers.
I found the zombies themselves rather interesting. They look pretty much like the standard-issue zombies of "The Walking Dead" or "Night of the Living Dead," and they have just as little brain power. But unlike the stumbling ghouls we are used to, these are capable of quick, coordinated movements. In large groups, they swarm like army ants. In that they are like the ones in Max Brooks' novel. But the book and the movie are otherwise very different.

Of course it has to be different from the book, you couldn't do it justice if you tried in a mere 2 or so hours.
On the other hand, the book would be perfect for a mini series. I'd watch it.
