We call it Juneuary. I am bundled up. I am freezing my bodacious tatas off.
Say something warm.

(20,776 posts)In San Francisco when the fog rolls in and the temperature drops, and its cold, moist and damp here. I usually have to sit at the computer with my legs wrapped up in a blanket. I would use the space heater, but the electric costs from PG&E are high here. I would sooner find a way to keep warm, rather than have to rely on a space heater. I have no control over the furnace and usually its off during the summer, thanks to my neighbors upstairs.

(1,858 posts)It took a few days to get it replaced. 90 degrees outside and no AC makes for a warm house.

(2,585 posts)I was born in this part of the world, and I love the cool weather, but I can understand that it is hard for folks who aren't used to it or just don't like it.
Don't worry...all too soon the cloud cover will burn away under the strength of the summer sun, and our temps will go from the 50's to the 90's overnight.
One thing about weather...it gives us all something to commiserate about with each other, which makes it the great connector, maybe?
Anyway, sending you warm thoughts.

(42,001 posts)And I STILL throw a fit every year. Seattle has the highest purchase of sunglasses every year. Why? Because we wear them so seldom we lose them!

Saturday is supposed to be drier and sunnier...I hope you can get out and enjoy it.

(2,585 posts)one of the nicest ways to enjoy this weather is to build a fire in the fireplace (or visit someone who has one)...and leave the windows open to let in fresh air.
No, I'm not nuts...why are you all looking at me that way?

Our calendars say that Solstice is today, which is correct for the East coast, where Solstice occured at 1:04 AM EDT.

That's okay by me. My hands are so cold inside that it's hard to type.
That's okay, because I hate heat.
I think I'll go have a nice hot breakfast and cup of tea, lol.
