I am sick to death of PINK. Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh! Why does shit have to be pink? Why can't we raise funds for research into breast cancer without pink? Does every single damned girl's toy have to be dipped in pink? Can't they change the color of Pepto Bismol?!
Stop with the pink, please. I'm begging you . . .

(53,112 posts)It helps people recognize that something is for breast cancer. Pink isn't a favorite color of mine, but I understand the reason for consistency. Notice it's always light pink, never fuchsia, rose, or ballet pink.

(16,245 posts)It's infantilizing, I think.
Also, not only are girls' toys pink (I remember back in the 1970's when they weren't all pink), they are always geared toward cooking, or fashion, or some such "girly" thing. It's outrageous. It's like we've gone backwards. Sexism is rampant in this culture. We are steeped in it so much we don't even see it.

(332 posts)I hate that it is suppose to be "girl". They don't do that with boys, I know blue when babies but guys aren't described as a color..........
