All except for one, I got at the right continent...
One was a picture of just a small bridge that could just be any where from where I am to any where at all.
It was in Australia.
10333 on my next try.

(13,447 posts)I end up hopping down the down road until I come to a street sign, business, etc that can at least tell me the language. Got lucky and found signs to a couple towns in some of them.

(20,176 posts)I just clicked until I found landmarks...usually road signs with the names of cities on them, then it's just a matter of using the zoomable map they give you to find the general location. It's a process of elimination thing...identify a country, then a region, then a city, then an area in the city, then a landmark. That game probably took me close to an hour.
I happened to get 3 really easy ones though: a major public park in Brazil, a famous statue in a city in the French Riviera that was founded as a commune and a tourist-destination promenade in Japan. The other two were a bridge on a river in NSW (and the name of the river is right on the bridge which made it easy to find on the pinpoint-map)(that was the one I got closest. 0.12km) and the other was Indiana which was easy once I got a few km down the road and saw a on-ramp for the interstate and a distance to Indianapolis. (That was the one I was farthest off on, 19.4km)

(6,011 posts)A historical marker 1875-1993, I think it said. I initially thought England, then zoomed in on a utility truck which had 'New Zealand'
printed on it among other graphics. So I guessed New Zealand....oh. no! England it was.
