in a car show; it's like cheating. On the other hand, a 50 year old Corvair pickup truck takes genuine effort to maintain, and it's pretty rare now. And.. I'm drooling over the Barracuda.

Nice to see a mix of decades and the various intermingling of the different kind of "car people". I hate those shows that are organized and run by the same people and we have to endure the blasting 1950s doo-wop music from a sound system.

It gives everyone a chance to strut their stuff. Far too many are almost like slick commercials for a certain style, type or breed and only allow certain makes, years etc. While I drool over anything "50" decade I also like to see those even older. It makes us feel like we have a chance to live as old as a car. HA! But it gives new car fanciers, those wanting to build their own a chance. Turning a old relic from the junkyard or neighbors garage is a costly and time consuming hobby. They need shows such as this to allow them to showcase their new talents and learn from the masters.

And at times hobbyists bring in cars usually not seen at the pro car shows.

There's a guy who shows up at "our" car show every so often, he restored a Ford Maverick.

I talked to him last year, he said "Yeah, I get laughed at, but it's fun keeping a car that was originally made junk, running."
