We still get it for all 4 family members just in case someone has a car breakdown or flat in an awkward place. Their towing & repair contractors have always arrived promptly and been helpful.

That said, they now charge mileage for any towing more than 3 miles. It used to be more miles, but I can't remember what the old limit was.

They limit the number of assists you can get, much more than they did, say, 10 years ago.

You can get discounts for airfare, car rental, motels, etc. but often you can get a better price on one of those Priceline type web sites.

Instead of giving you Triptiks, you have to download and print them yourself, which obviously saves them money.

They send you multiple nagging reminder notices to renew your annual membership AND pester you to buy their insurance.

However the cost is getting way too high. I just paid $193.50 for the four or us. And they tried to sneak in an extra $1 "voluntary donation" for something or other, but I refused to pay it.

This will be our final year with AAA if I can find an alternative.

sorry I didn't make that clearer.

I'm already a member, and do find it worthwhile, though agree it used to be better; but I noticed they offer collision insurance and say their premiums are lower, and so wondered about that.

Thanks anyway!
