I love MAD MEN.
Best writing on TV.

(3,469 posts)I'm worried about Megan, though. Have you heard the Megan/Sharon Tate theory? I usually find fan theories to be silly but this one gives me chills.

(3,469 posts)Tom and Lorenzo (a fashion blog that does amazing Mad Men analysis) noted at the beginning of the season that Megan was being dressed in a style very similar to Sharon Tate. Then, last week, Megan was on the balcony wearing that red star t-shirt and people were wondering if that was appropriate to the time period until someone found a 1968 photo of one being worn by...Sharon Tate. She was photographed on the set of the Roman Polanski movie "Rosemary's Baby." Sally was reading Rosemary's Baby the night of the break-in. Also, the daughter of the man who took the Tate photo tweeted costume designer Janie Bryant and asked her about the coincidence of Megan wearing the same shirt as Sharon Tate. Bryant tweeted back, "No coincidence."
Like I said, I usually dismiss these overly-analytical fan theories but I think there might be something to this one. Especially now that they suddenly have Don acting all in love with her again. When she showed up in his hallucination tonight pregnant, I gasped.

interesting theory but I think Matt likes to f**k with the audience a little.

(3,469 posts)There were numerous signs last season that Pete was going to die and they weren't particularly subtle so people were shocked when it was Lane who died. This season, the overt death symbolism has been around Don. Slate even has an article today saying they think Weiner is going to kill him off this season but I think it might be Megan. But yeah, Weiner does like to play with the audience and, even though the Tate stuff has been subtle, I'm sure he knew the overly analytical fans would catch it. He's probably chuckling.
