Do you identify as a man or a woman?

Just curious what the gender breakdown here is like. The more I post on here the better I know the people, a great community we have here! But embarrassingly I'm still not clear if some people are men or women, not that it matters of course, I'm just curious.

I'm not talking about being straight or gay but which gender do you identify with.

To tell you the truth I just want an excuse to try out the poll feature that I now have access to

Wouldn't Transgender would be someone born biologically male and identifying as a woman or vice versa?

As for myself, sometimes it is alittle from Column A, others a little from Column B. I confuse myself to be honest.

On somethings I identify with men, others things women. Similarly there are some things associated with men that repulse me, and things that are associated with women that I cant stand. This is probably why my step father thought I was gay at one point.

I once took a test I found on the internet that transgender people supposedly take before considering surgery. I was hoping it could give me an idea...but it said I was Androgyne.

Generally I try my best on internet not to identify my biological gender and let people decide. So far its been 50/50

Trans woman was a man but became her true self.
Trans man was a woman but became his true self.
And to quote from the Internet (I hope this info is correct.)

'Transgender' describes a person, male or female, who dresses, behaves or presents themselves in a way that is different from their gender norm. Transgender includes transvestites/crossdressers, Drag Queens/Kings, androgynes and genderqueers. It does NOT include transsexual people.

'Transsexual' describes a person, male or female, born with a congenital neurological intersex condition (Benjamin's syndrome). Although transsexualism almost always requires some form of medical intervention up to and including genital surgery, it is not defined by, nor restricted to, that treatment.

If you remove the sexual aspects, I'd have to say 60/40 female/male

I answered woman on your poll because I didn't remove those aspects...I am a woman who likes men. However, as my father was the primary positive influence in my life, I tend to frequently think like a man. Often I find myself in sympathy with the male point of view...not because I like males, but because it seems the more logical and realistic.

When men talk about getting in touch with their feminine side, I think it is much the same as my situation. I wonder what percentage of either gender is purely one or the other. I would bet it is a very small percentage.

how I would answer that question, also.

I've read where women are usually more "verbal" than men. I'm really not that verbal.

Sometimes I tend to think more like a man. When I was a child, I wanted a chemistry set...a train set...boy stuff.

I feel uncomfortable...out of place, even...in frilly, feminine clothing. I hate clothes shopping, and I don't give a rat's ass what my shoes look like as long as my feet are comfortable.

I like typically "male" decor...frilly, lacy bedrooms with flowers and crap make me gag. Give me dark, masculine colors. No pastels!

But I like fooling with my hair, and I have an extensive collection of makeup.

My logical and emotional sides, however, are often at war with each other Makes life a little difficult at times.

I'm quite verbal...but I've known men who are more so. I had a chemistry set as a child, helped my father build things like bookcases and other furniture types and can put together anything, with a decent set of directions...they don't have to be perfect.

My clothing depends on my mood... sometimes very feminine sometimes very tailored. Rarely 'frilly' however. Here in FL, I pretty much live in FitFlops or sandals... like you, they must be comfortable!

I prefer jewel tones, or even earth tones..(I do find beige, all by itself, boring)..., to pastels and my favorite bedroom was done in purples, fuschia & peacock blue. Paisleys and geometric prints. I like pillows on my bed...lots of pillows! I've been thinking about redoing my bedroom, back to those jewel tones... It will be a matter of finding the materials.

I hate fooling with my hair, which is why it is very long and up in a knot on the top of my head. I do love make-up, getting my nails done and pedicures!

I think in straight lines from point A to point B and on. I am a problem solver...so like men, supposedly, if you are going to sing me a tale of woe, be prepared to listen when I tell you what I think or how to resolve the issue. I myself, am rarely looking for sympathy, but answers!

The biggest battle between my head and my heart was the one over religion. Head said BS, heart said "But wouldn't it be lovely?"
Head won, but it was a near run thing for decades! Most of the time I lead with my head...

Hope you've been enjoying your holiday weekend!

sound wonderful!

Is it sort of a Moroccan theme?

I love that style of decor...

Like you, I'm also a problem solver...it's very hard for me to hear tales of woe without trying to find a solution...something I'm sure annoys my daughter, who often uses me as a sounding board, but comes away with more than just a sympathetic ear. On the other side of that, I get annoyed when someone presents me with a problem and I come up with a solution that seems rational enough and the person I'm trying to "help" says "Yeah, but...yeah, but..." and continues on with the same self-defeating behavior.

Head vs heart...for me it's almost an everyday struggle. The world at large doesn't seem to quite trust someone who can't choose one side over the other. We're seen as "wishy-washy" or disingenuous.

Anyway...

it's cold and rainy here, but we're expecting warmer weather by the end of next week. Hope you are enjoying your holiday too

OK, opened the TV window on my computer and found the channel.

I used to be a big GT fan. Hit a lot of the Euro venues when I lived there, Sebring, Watkins Glen, etc. Haven't done it in years. For no particular reason - life intruded, I guess.

Re the day of the week - it got so bad with me the first few years I was retired (missed garbage pick up day, etc) I finally broke down and bought a couple of wall mounted atomic clocks that did time, date, day of the week, moon phase, etc. Pathetic, isn't it?

although missing garbage pickup is a bear...particularly here in FL.

I was in staying in a converted villa outside of Florence one year during the Monza Grand Prix... They were rallying through the mountains the day before...it was so exciting to hear the cars roar through! The villa was owned by an elderly Count and his daughter ran it as a small hotel. The Count pretended to speak no English...fine with me...but I came across him watching the race on t.v. on the sun porch (best way to describe it) I sat down to watch, the next thing I know he is chattering away to me in perfect English!

I can watch a 500 mile race and never leave the stands... there is just something about speed and the roar of the engines, I love.

I don't go for arguments that are based solely on "I am (fill in gender, ethnicity, faith, other personal identifier) ergo, my experience is the experience of everyone in the group, and because of that, my authority on this topic is superior to yours.

I do think those specifics can sometimes INFORM a conversation, but they don't work with me as trump cards.

And yet you agree that such information while useless as stereotypical labels can still be helpful in some situations. I stated in my OP quite clearly that this was a light hearted thread and that the information matters hardly at all. The fact of the mater is I'm just curious. I like to create some form of mental image of the posters I talk too. Said image doesn't have to be anywhere close to perfect, it doesn't even have to fit the individual at all and I really don't care about classical gender roles and expected stereotypical behaviour. I even provided an option for those not wanting to say, which you s perfectly fine. I remember seeing a thread here where people were asked to post their photo, that is certainly much more personal.

I never once said that YOU made any assumptions--I was simply responding to your general observations with my own general observations--or are you the only one allowed to opine, here?

Please remove the chip from your shoulder and take my words at face value, without adding any accusatory "feelings" and without taking my words as "personally" directed at you--because they weren't, and I took some pains to word my post to insure that they weren't aimed at you--I guess my efforts went unappreciated.

If I were speaking to/about YOU, I would have said I find it amusing how YOU assume what folks are, simply because YOUR own prejudices "fit".... instead of "I find it amusing how people assume what folks are, simply because their own prejudices "fit"...

Amusement is what I feel--and I didn't "characterize" your curiosity in any way. If you want to be curious, go for it.

I read this as you saying that your authority on this topic is superior to mine because of your unwillingness to go for such arguments. I see now you probably meant the opposite, that people who go for such arguments argue from a place of false superiority.

If that's the case I apologise.

My preferred way of life is masculine, but I am also still very feminine in other parts.

I was told once that it all depends on what sex your attracted to. But that does not help since I am attracted to both.

Another said it what role in the relationship you take. Still does not help. I go either way there too.
