Any way, I am very glad and relieved to get my LOL Cats fix.

I especially loved "He know our language". Those eyes... just perfect!

And...dingy noise...not warm...and not comfortable to sit on.
That would be my cat...I am surprised she isn't out here right now. Her antics are part of the reason why I lost the email account that my DU account was registered with.

And all the squees this week...I guess we were all really in need of some healing cuteness.

And poor old Nearsighted Norville! I sure hope he did not become catfood.

My own eyesight is getting pretty bleary. I have been up all night. Better go to bed.

I've saved so many to send to the family...but.. you also brought tears of remembrance today...

I had forgotten: but my Dad would teach my sister and I about construction starting out when we were very little.

We would watch over what he was doing, one holding a screwdriver and another holding a wrench, to help him.

He was a mechanical engineer, a WWII vet, and every time he helped with physics homework, he would say with a smile..

"Let's keep this simple" He was a very patient and encouraging teacher...

But one of his teaching phrases as we were older and actually helping with construction..

Was as katz says, from that era, "Remember, measure twice, cut once". He died at the age of 92 yrs.

I woke up this morning, determined to face The Lounge.

Stare at the threads and face reality: no more LOLcats Sunday thread. This would be my first step in "getting over it."

I did my stretches. I had my tea. An orange. I marched resolutely to the computer, knowing the grim task ahead.

As the thread opened, there was the Sunday LOLcats thread, right up at the top!

I was overjoyed! I don't know what happened, but can guess from reading this thread.

I'm so happy!!!!

I was heartbroken to think how sad it would be around here without you (and the LOL Cats).

I know you probably won't believe this, but I really did walk to high school uphill both ways! Of course, it was only about 1/2 mile, and I did have boots on, but I had to walk up the hill on one street, then down to the school on another, then reverse it on the way home! I grew up in a small town in the mountains of Va., and we didn't have buses, so it was either walk or, if we were lucky, get a ride with someone.

I wouldn't trade my childhood in my hometown for all the tea in China! Thanks for reminding me of how lucky I was to grow up in such a great place. BTW, I loved it so much, I retired here after 42 years of living in other places!
