In no particular order:
Hogging the left/passing lane. There are several versions of this; it could be someone that drives at or below the speed limit regardless of whats going on around them. Also setting their cruise control and refusing to change speed which makes them take several minutes to pass someone. Just put your foot on the gas a little so you can get around so that others may pass.
Someone planning on making a left hand turn several miles down the road so they just stay in the left lane till they get there.
Not using turn signals; on the flip side ignoring someone who is signaling a change.
Not allowing someone to merge or forcing your way in. One section I drive often starts warning that the right lane is exiting in a mile, then 1/2, then 1/4. Some people will wait until the lane is exiting before trying to merge in to avoid having to get into the slower lane till the last second.
Cheating at 4-way stops and not waiting your turn.
Tailgating and other overly aggressive driving.
I know Im missing a couple things that dont come to mind at the moment. I still can lose my temper when driving. How about you?

(3,044 posts)My biggest peeve is speeding; second are the cops who stopped enforcing the law after Covid hit.

the red light when I have a green left turn arrow.
Speeders who weave in and out across 4 lanes of traffic just to gain a car length or two.

(10,540 posts)It annoys me because very often, if they pulled up a little more, one or more cars behind them could either get through a light at the previous intersection or make it into a turn lane and go ahead and make their turn and get out of the way.
When I was in highschool, we had driver's ed, and we were taught that when pulling up behind another car at a light or stop sign, you should pull up until you can just see the bumper of the next car above your hood. Since SUV bumper heights are higher now, I could see leaving a little more space than that, but there's no reason to leave a whole car length in front of you when you're all at a dead stop waiting for the light to change.
Another peeve is people failing to match the speed of the traffic they're merging into on an expressway, even though there's plenty of room to do so. Where I live, a lot of people literally try to enter an expressway with a 70 mph speed limit while driving 35 mph, even when there's plenty of room on the ramp to match the speed of the traffic on the expressway. Very often people already in the lane have to slam on the brakes whenever someone enters the expressway, and the whole lane gets slower and slower for no good reason.
In driver's ed, we were taught that, conditions permitting, it's actually safer to be driving slightly faster than the traffic you're merging into, because it's easier to tap the breaks to slightly slow your speed than it is to abruptly speed up.
LAST BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, I wish everyone would stay off their phones while driving!!! The inattentive driving around here is beyond belief.

(15,514 posts)We can't turn right on red here, except when it says "after stop, right turn permitted on red." When someone is stopped at the light with one of these signs and doesn't turn, it's beyond infuriating.
