Anyone here take dicyclomine? I have some gut issues and my doc prescribed it...

It's made me super sleepy in the daytime and that's a problem. I have a call into my doc about it but I'd like to hear from someone who has used the medication and can give me feedback.

Thanks, all!

Try cutting them in half if your sleepy take 1/2 mornings and half in afternoon till you adjust.
How many are u taking per day?
It never makes me tired. One thing to notice your vision of taking too many per day will cause slight blurring in vision.

2. That may be it. I may have to cut them in half. And I do notice blurring vision, thanks for linking the two for me!

I thought my eyesight problem was age related and hadn't been to my eye doc for a while for another vision test.

Since you take it, may I ask if you are allowed to drink wine? I'm going to Europe next week and would love to have wine with my evening meals (we currently don't drink any alcohol regularly, but like it when we travel in Europe).

I have to be functioning as I am a caregiver of my husband who has some disabilities due to his spine. We have made our house handicap accessible so he can get around with his walker, shower, and even get up and down stairs once a day.

Your MD about hyoscyamine .125 mg it’s very similar to what we take I use this med sometimes when my gut spasms. This med might not make you as tired.
FYI I’m a working RN. Best of health to you.
Let me know how it goes!

Usually he is uncommonly well mannered and calm. And I'm not demanding. But he is Primary Care doc and probably has a some real characters in his practice.

I will mention hyoscyamine to him. Thanks for being so kind!

It does help quite a bit, especially if I take it when symptoms start to appear. I do have wine while taking it but try not to drink any close to the time I take the medication. My pills are in capsule form, so it's not possible to cut the dosage. Fortunately, I've never had any negative side effects. I hope the medication helps you; I find that it's good to have on hand when traveling.

It was a pediatric dose because I am small and do tend to react to most pharmaceuticals. I will never take another. I'm sure it helps some people, but the side-effects for me were so bad that I won't risk it again. The pain, dizziness, blurred vision, and constipation it caused were so much worse than anything that's already going on.

I hope it helps you and you can manage the sleepiness.

My gut issues might ruin my trip abroad and I talked to my PCP about getting the problem solved. Other than that, I am very healthy, albeit old! I hope you are well now...

I felt like I was going to explode. Things are better now, thanks.

Good luck getting things straightened out for your trip!
