3. A relative lives there, and sent me a couple of excellent eclipse photos.

He said the traffic in his town was horrendous; it was completely overrun with eclipse tourists. There were no hotel rooms or even camping spots to be found anywhere in the area. He bought food and liquor several days ago because shopping for those things had become impossible by yesterday. I think the so-called "emergency declaration" may have been a way to get some funding to deal with the traffic and other problems.

A friend invited us to do the Eclipse with her. We had not seen her for a long while so we went, even though a short walk across our patio would have worked.
It was really clear and bright though.
My friend and I went down into Hot Springs National Park on Sunday and it was a madhouse!!! I am glad we were able to see everything from Hot Springs Village about 20 miles to the North.
