whirlpool appliance repair plans

I keep getting solicitations from whirlpool telling me my appliance warranty is going to be ending and there is a plan that I can pay for with a credit card deduction each month. Has anyone dealt with this or used this type of plan? Warranty on the fridge would be about $14 00/month. and is supposedly almost unlimited for repairs.
Thanx in advance

Added the warranty but each year the percentage of the warranty goes down. I am now at 80% replacement but that includes the recovery of my contents if the should spoil. This is the first time I opted for a warranty and I think after so long, they warranty isn’t valid..I need to check how many years that is. My hot water tank went out sometime overnight so my shower wasn’t too bad but I’m waiting until Monday for the plumber as I don’t want to pay weekend or emergency charges! It’s always something, isn’t it?

Didn't pay if you have tools and are handy. YouTube is a great resource for home handyman types.

You literally have better odds going to Las Vegas. And you get free drinks gambling there.

Take the money you'd spend on warranties and invest in an S&P index fund.

Young pet has a major medical problem that is covered, then it’s cost effective. But in every other case, you’re better off paying out of pocket.

Warranty plans are usually not worth it. Appliances, electronics, cars, home repairs, you name it. Most things are not worth repairing. Literally. When they get to a certain age, it's one repair after another, and you will want a new appliance. Most warranties have high premiums and deductibles, so the odds are against the consumer.

hopefully the fridge doesn't break down before Monday when I'll give them a call to delve deeper into the corporate pitfalls and the fine print of their "warranty contract"

How's that song go? "Ain't no rest for the wicked" so I find it very hard to believe whirlpool has my interests at heart.

Peace

I began receiving weekly solicitations by mail and internet, to purchase their warranty. It increased to a fever pitch, and has finally stopped. I kept thinking to ask them “ hey- you must think your appliance is really shitty if you are so determined to get me into the repair scheme.”
