Tacky/Gross/Stupid Product Names

Dude Wipes - just saw this commercial in the past few days. Moistened wipes apparently designed specifically for cleaning up after man-sized fecal deposits. Quite explicit with big blue stains comparing the efficacy of this product with competitors, and male actors dropping their drawers to show off their unstained tighty whities. TMI. No dignity, no class.

Love Sak - a sectional couch. Perhaps it is my long career in health care that makes this product name seem like a euphemism for scrotum. "Let's go curl up on the Love Sak." Nope.

I will not be buying either of these products.

2. Love Sak? I think it's a take on the famous song by the B-52s "Love Shack."

If your career is that long, surely you know that song.

I am happily stuck in the folk-rock of the mid-to-late 1960s and early-to-mid1970s.

Hadn't considered that the size of the deposit was a factor.

A body powder I’ve used for years. No talc. Gulf Breeze scent. Name doesn’t bother me cause I find it to be a good product although I guess the name could be considered tacky.

It took a while to get past the name before we bought it, but we love it. Expensive though, but completely customizable.

Not tacky or tasteless, just stupid. "No va" meaning "doesn't go" in Spanish. Why on earth name a car that in a country where more than a few people speak Spanish?

14. Nova means "new" in English as derived from the Latin. In astronomy, it means "new star" (new appearance) in the sky

which ironically refers to the death of the star. It goes out in a blaze of glory.

From Google ...

Nova
Meaning:new. Nova is a girl's name of Latin origin. It is derived from "novus," meaning "new." Nova is also an astronomic term given to bright stars that appear suddenly in the sky and release powerful energy. It was first used as a girl's name in the 19th century and is especially popular in Scandinavian nations.

They just sound stupid, weird spellings, etc. The pharmaceutical companies could be spending more on R & D instead of marketing but hey, generating a market for their drugs means more value for shareholders - and isn't that the point?
