instead of the traffic in both directions. Yes, they may have the light, but still relying on NYC drivers to obey traffic laws requires a faith that I simply do not have.

Don't always use crosswalks, but I do look both ways and try not to trip on curb.

Reminded me of the Trevor Noah bit about walking in New York, and traffic lights...

I always look both ways. And Again if it's a street where cars can turn in to.

I look both ways on a one-way street before I step off the curb.

hit/slammed by a bus in Hong Kong because he looked in the wrong direction before crossing the street. It was horrifying. I now always look both directions TWICE before I cross any street.
