4. I don't know if it's empathy

or something else, but when I see photos or videos of animals appearing to "care" about each other, like so many here on DU, I have to wonder if it's just something that comes naturally and that so many of us have "unlearned."

My sister is and has always been a mean-spirited narcissist. Learned it from our parents. So bad that I cut ties with her last year.

My point: she uses the guise of being an animal-lover to hide her true persona. Example: She works in an animal hospital. She has three dogs. Her Facebook page is nothing but notifications of missing pets, especially dogs. You wouldn't imagine what a horror she is when you see this woman's excessive concern for animals. It's a mask.
