12. I love Hawaii, have been there in 1969 and 1982

Maybe you're an experienced ocean swimmer, but if not...if you get caught in a 'riptide'- actually a rip current- swim parallel to the shore until you feel the current stop and you can swim toward shore. Just saying, because a patient at the place where I used to work had this happen while staying in Hawaii. Someone swam out to swim alongside her and get back to shore, so she wouldn't get exhausted trying to fight the flow of water in that narrow area.
