My wife just asked one of the most interesting questions I've ever heard...

We just had a great dinner of chicken, rice and a excellent artichoke. It was one of the best artichokes we've ever had.

Her question was, "who in the world ever looked at that spiky, hard, weird looking plant and decided that was something that we should eat?"

Burying something for 30 days and coming back to see if it's edible...how was this discovery arrived at?

Probably the ancestor did not look as awesome but food was scarce and the primeval artichokes were yummy. Butter and Best Foods mayonnaise were invented to make artichokes even more yummy.
