Oh Lord, kids say the darndest things!!!

My little 4 year old patient is a bright, shining little girl. Tonight during her bath she was naming the planets in order, among other adorable and precocious things. I told her how smart she was and asked her if someone opened up her head and poured in a bunch of brains.

She replied, "Nope. Just one little brain."

OMG! How cute is that?!?

And unlike my other client who passed away at 8 years old, she is very healthy! My other client was born with several heart deformities and unfortunately got septic and died so quickly. I was devastated.
This child was born with some intestinal problems, but is otherwise very, very healthy. She will thrive once she starts to completely eat by mouth and gets rid of her feeding tube. I look forward to that day, but experience tells me it will take several years before that happens.
Today is her fourth birthday and she is such a little charmer. She hugs on me, kisses on me and tells me she loves me. I love my job!!
