(6,082 posts)I once had a grouper piccata at a local restaurant called Mom and Dad's in Tallahassee, FL. OMG! The best flavor, texture and aroma ever! Served with freshly made pasta and a side salad. Scrummy!!

(65,061 posts)Read an article, probably back in the mid 90s about America's favorite ethnic foods.
Italian was not in the top 5!
The experts surmised that Italian cuisine had become so ubiquitous that many people no longer considered it "ethnic".
Mexican, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, French and so on still carried the ethnic or nationalality sense.
But, pizza, spaghetti, lasagna, etc. are just every day American cuisine.
I jokingly said "Yes" in my answer, but my absolute faves are veal piccata or parmagiana & linguini in white clam sauce.

(3,259 posts)Although, not that easy to find for some reason. The best I've ever had was in a little italian restaurant in Prague.
Rumor has it Tom Cruise ate there a lot while he was filming Mission Impossible. I was living there at the time. But, never saw him.
And, I ate there A LOT because the food situation was pretty awful in the late 90s.
