Decided to get everything over with at once, so I took:
covid-19 booster
Quadravalent flu shot
RSV vaccine
shingles vaccine.
Two on each arm.
It's been 4 hours since, and I can barely lift my arms more than 30 degrees without soreness and pain.
Have big swollen knots below where the vaccines were injected. Let's hope they subside.
Worth it, though.

(2,848 posts)When I got the 2nd Covid shot I figured after the 2nd Shingles vaccine hit me so hard
that I had better make sure I didn't have to work the next day.
I'm looking into getting the Covid Booster shot in a couple of weeks and that will be unknown territory.

(17,381 posts)Covid, boosters and flu shots always make my arm very sore for 24-36 hrs. Husband has zero pain from them. Did you get the. All at a pharmacy?

(43,895 posts)Free of charge since I've already paid the full deductible for the year.
Good to know. I usually make us appointments at CVS. It will cost less than Costco, since I cant get out of that place without spending a couple hundred dollars, much on things I didnt know I needed!

(5,859 posts)When I joined my first husband overseas in the Air Force I had to get a typhoid in one arm and a tetanus in the other. Could barely lift either arm next morning! Day or two later I was fine.

(22,297 posts)rural well and you never know what's upstream from your well. Our doctor changed from upper arm to giving them with a SubQ needle in our forearms and it made a big difference - big red spot on the arm but didn't hurt nearly as much
The sickest I ever got from a shot was the typhus shot I had to take to go overseas. I ran a fever and hurt from head to toe.

(16,400 posts)I don't want you to feel ill, but I'm mad that so many people barely feel a thing with vaccinations and I get so sick with almost all of them. On the flip side, I do believe I have a fantastic immune system.

(2,848 posts)Keep the injections sites an inch a part or use both arms.
Live vaccines are ok if taken on the same day otherwise
separated by 4 weeks to avoid potential risk of interference
High Dose Flu Vaccine with the Covid vaccine could cause more side effects so you may want to get them in different arms.
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevent/coadministration.htm
For RSV: Respiratory syncytial virus
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people 60 and older speak with their doctor before receiving the vaccine. Some "early evidence" that getting the RSV, Covid and Flu shot all at once "might" lesson the effectiveness of all three. They say it's BETTER to get the shots when they are available and NOT to worry about timing.

(7,792 posts)However, last year I went to the pharmacy to inquire about the new Covid vaccination for my age group and made an appointment.
While I was receiving that vaccination, I mentioned needing my flu vaccination as well, I was told by one of the pharmacist that we can receive both Covid and flu vaccinations at the same time. I told the pharmacist that the guidelines must have changed since my very 1st Covid vaccination, I still ended up making another appointment 1 week later for my flu shot instead of getting them at the same time.

(2,848 posts)At the time I think they were trying to be cautious until more info was available. My memory was that they even ask you on the paperwork if you've had any other vaccines or had a fever recently. I've never had both shots at the same time. I get the Flu vaccine at work and I'm going for the Covid Booster shot in a couple of weeks.

I don't post much but sometimes when the mood strikes I post a bunch and then nothing for a long time.
I was just looking into the Covid Booster when I read these posts.

(7,792 posts)You may find some relief with taking an OTC pain reliever after receiving vaccines.
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/17/cdc-safe-to-take-tylenol-or-otc-pain-medications-after-covid-vaccine.html
Also, if you can tolerate any or all of these stretches, I find them most helpful after getting vaccinated.
Hope that you feel better soon!
