whine. I broke my hand on an exercise bike 2 1/2 weeks ago (boxer's fracture, smacked my hand on the arms - its an elliptical bike). The new cast hurts, grinds on the wrist bone, sick of not being able to cook etc.
I know this is temporary and in the grand scheme its minor compared to people who have real problems, but
wahhhhhhhhhhhhh
ok I am done now, back to your Lounge activities

(53,339 posts)...had you not incurred your injury exercising.
Some of us here in the Lounge will have no truck with *exercising*. Even those who may inadvertently exercise their elbows with a good libation.
You shoulda said you broke your hand reaching for the drink you dropped.
But, seriously, you have my sympathies. Get better soon.

(5,909 posts)I know, it sucks. I tripped the end of June when my flip flop got caught on an uneven part of our sidewalk and skinned the crap out of my knee, but my right shoulder and arm took the brunt of the fall. I was icing it and taking Aleve but it hurt so badly I really thought I had broken something.
To rule it out, I went on July 4th to an Urgent Care for an x-ray. Nothing broken, dr said it was probably tissue damage, gave me some pain meds and said to see an orthopedist in a couple weeks if it doesn't feel better. It didn't, so I went to my dr today (which I have one for knee issues) and he had this machine which looked similar to an ultrasound one to make sure I didn't damage my rotator cuff. My Mom did several years ago, had 3 surgeries and still has issues with it.
No damage; he said I just bruised it. I got a shot, steroid pack and anti-inflammatory meds. I'm so glad it's nothing more but it hurts like hell. I can't sleep on it, I couldn't open a jar of pickles yesterday and I just started working at an animal shelter doing very physical work (mopping, scrubbing, lifting) so that's not helping, but I'm dealing with it.
My friend and neighbor across the street started chemo last week for an aggressive form of breast cancer, so I feel so bad complaining about this stupid shoulder.
