What kind of dog is this?

I see a number of dogs like this, and I can never decide what breed this is, if it's a breed at all. What breed do you think this is?

The face looks like a Jack Russell, but the ears look like a pit bull? But a pit bull has a broader face with shorter muzzle. The eyes look like a Viszla or Weimereiner. Maybe it's just a mutt/mix? What do you think?

Or, maybe even chocolate lab, given the brown fur around the nose. We have lots of dogs around here that look like that, too. Pit bulls and Laborador retrievers are two of the most popular breeds in the area. It would help to be able to see this dog's body. We also have lots of hounds around here, so I often see dogs with that kind of head, but a lanky body.

My girl Daizie's head shape is a lot like this, but she's a brindle. The girls (sorry, I just can't call someone that sweet looking a bitch) have daintier features than the boys.

Maybe a mutt, though, with something else thrown into the mix. What a sweetheart!

But the ears seem the same. These have wide faces, too. But I don't know.

Pit Bull in my opinion.
We have a rescue neutered male that looks exactly like that.
Very sweet natured dog, ours is, and we're happy to have him.

At least in the cocker spaniel world. My cocker is white/tan, with amber eyes, brown nose, brown blotchy freckles. I've heard they are bred from a brown cocker (they have amber eyes and brown noses),and some other color.

like this dog. This dog looks smallish to me. I know a bit about dogs, being a dog lover and having read books on the subject, watch dog shows on TV, etc. But every time I see this kind of dog, I just have no idea what kind of dog it is. I was just wondering.

Sometimes I think it looks like a pit bull, but then these dogs are really too small, have short legs, big round eyes, and don't look like a pit bull, when you really look closely. Then I think they must be part lab, just because almost every mix is part lab, it seems. I don't know whether to be scared of 'em, or not. I never have been. The ones in my neighborhood actually behave better on their walks than mine do (I'm ashamed to say....I've worked with my dog for years, and they still are not very well behaved on walks).

I think they're probably a mix that has this common look...lab and maybe some pit bull, and maybe some jack russell terrier (we have a lot of those in the area, and they have those big ears that stand up and big round eyes and short legs). I've never had the nerve to ask an owner. I don't want them to think I'm saying something negative about their dog, in case it's part pit bull. I'm sure they get enuf flack about it, and I'm afraid they'll be offended.
