Snip.....
SAMUI ELEPHANT HAVEN IS A SANCTUARY ON KOH SAMUI FOR RESCUED ELEPHANTS

The Haven is a beautiful and ethical sanctuary for elephants rescued from types of elephant exploitation practices including trekking, performing in circuses, logging, and street begging.

Lush Koh Samui jungles envelop our sanctuary which sits proudly atop undulating hills and commands impressive views over the Gulf of Thailand and Koh Phangan. We provide a safe home to a remarkable herd of rescued elephants.

Founder of Samui Elephant Haven, Maew Suriya, ensures that the rescued elephants are now free to roam through the haven and can express their natural instincts through play and interaction by foraging for native plants and bathing in the various pools throughout the 60 rai sanctuary.

Visitors choosing the Haven will have meaningful encounters with these magnificent elephants, learn about their individual histories and traits while supporting ethical tourism. Guests will also have the opportunity of meeting a herd of beautiful cows, some clucking chickens, and the Haven’s rescue dogs.

You can even contribute one of the elephant cakes for $30 to $50!
YOU CAN HELP SUPPORT OUR HERD BY ORDERING AN ELEPHANT CAKE.
SMALL CAKES ARE $30 AND LARGE FAMILY SIZE CAKES ARE $50.
THEY ARE GREAT FOR BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES. EACH ORDER RECEIVES A VIDEO CLIP OF THE HERD FEASTING ON YOUR PERSONALIZED GIFT.

They have family photos and biographies on the web site but I'm not sure which baby that is in the video (Haven or Luna?).

Thanks for posting TBlue............

I am very happy they started this sanctuary, in the area I lived and have now opened a second one in Chawengnoi. Samui is one of the first areas we got onto recycling when I was there, so I am not surprised. For a small island they are doing a great job.

In a noisy place right now.

Okay! Saw it! Looks like any one-year-old determined to get into his/her birthday cake! Don't even have to know what it actually IS! Just that it's fun to slide around on/in!
