(1,013 posts)There are things we humans just don't know and cannot understand. Rolling in cowpoop, a dead rotting fish and anything else we find repulsive, its a world we do not understand. AND wet is one of the best, the fur isn't dry and repressive, and the skin just feels so alive- so of course you want to share it with the person you love the most.
Sometimes dogs have more anthropomorphic(my biggest word) qualities than some humans.

(9,527 posts)It by far beats the alternative of a dog that is afraid of you. Dogs remind us of how good we can be. They look at you as though you're the best thing ever, and all they ask is for food, shelter and the occasional head scratch.
I even quickly forgave my mom's lap dog who wanted to cheer me up after my first knee surgery. So he jumped on top of my legs while I was laying on the couch. Keep in mind the surgery involved cutting my thigh muscle open and cutting off a chunk of bone and the lap dog in question was a 100 lb malamute. Even doubling up on percocet couldn't numb the pain before the dog jumped on it.
