Two ways to enjoy the best little town in Austria

We had some spare time on our hands in Austria last week, so having heard about this place right here on DU, we just had to check it out.

We did it both ways!

1. Did you go back after dark & get the sign?

I'll bet they've welded them to the poles though.

2. They've had their Lederhosen in a twist about that for a while

The signs are VERY securely fastened to those poles, which are anchored in concrete.

The only people who appreciate the visitors are the folks at Gasthaus Lindlbauer just down the road. Ms. Lindlbauer is one heck of an awesome cook, and she makes a local wild mushroom stew to die for. There is seriously nothing to see in town, but I'd go back just to see what she's cooking up.

We told her "We're here for the Fucking" and she talked us into having lunch instead of just a cup of coffee, so that "it will last longer".

3. I have been to Austria several times and I can state with great assurance

that I love Fucking even though it has been quite a while. I'm sure MFM can sympathize.

4. The greater Fucking area is quite nice

It's a picturesque jaunt from Salzburg to Fucking.

5. I once took the train from beautiful downtown Pucheim to Hallstatt.

no Fucking though on that trip.
