It’s been a long, hard four years. Most of us knew it was going to be horrific. We tried to tell them. They wouldn’t listen.

right then that 2020 was going to be a clusterfuck of epic proportions. Then we lost John Lewis, Fred Willard, Jerry Stiller, Kirk Douglas, Diana Rigg, and Carl Reiner. 2020 sucks.

By then Fat Nixon's impeachment had been a bust, the COVID quarantines started, then the Mueller report fizzled, and since then there have been tornadoes, wildfires, murder hornets, locusts, a couple of plane crashes, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, ongoing Trumpic eruptions, Bill Barr goes completely rogue, George Floyd's murder (a mile from my home and my city blows up), more Black people killed by police, Trump invades a church, Boogaloo Boys, giant invasive lizards (besides Trump and Barr), Trump's stooge tries to kill the Post Office, and besides that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?

Might have been this one:

https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/04/trump-coronavirus-cases-will-go-down-to-zero-ultimately.html

On February 26, President Trump boasted that the coronavirus was about to disappear altogether from the United States. “You have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero,” he insisted.

All the signs are there that Donnie would not be up to the task, of course, but that statement made it obvious that we were in for a real shitshow.

... I knew back in February that the novel coronavirus was going to hit this country hard.

I told my coworkers back then that too many people in this country wouldn't cooperate to starve it of hosts, unlike countries in Asia.

The main focus among most conservatives in this country is competition and conquest, not cooperation.

And then Trump made it even worse, which I honestly did not expect back then because I figured his germaphobe traits would predominate over stupidity and sadism for him.

when I woke up and realized that, oh fuck, it's an election year and that orange fuckwad will be running.

I dislike all election years because of the nonstop ugliness of the Other Party, the relentless robo-calls, etc.

Despite the delightful prospect of booting Benedict Donald out of the White House, I felt queasy at the thought of the hideous things he would do to hang on to the office.

Swiftly followed by the Iran incident, was already seeing disturbing reports on twitter from Wuhan at the time.
I hoped I was wrong but stated we are all fucked. Nobody believed me, they apologised.

We are still fucked by the way, I hope there is a 2021.

it was obvious he would only get worse by getting revenge punishing the truthtellers and installing more incompetents and abusing power for political advantage in election year.
