2. Opt in not opt out

Replying to a thread sets you up for emails for all replies to the thread? I’d hate that and would avoid the site like the plague in the future.

In general you should have to opt in and not opt out. I hate having to unsubscribe to stuff I never explicitly subscribed to.

Like many other things we are behind other countries in this.

I’ve never had a facebook account. Some sites like DU do it well. It’s easy to tell you’ve gotten a reply and it’s your choice to look at them although not looking would drive me nuts.

That’s why I responded. I caught the you must want an email for every reply in the thread nonsense. I don’t even want an email for my replies. Just make it apparent there is a reply.
