I was at my local hardware store, looking for a hard to find tool and it required two men to hunt for it. I followed them down an aisle and at one point, the lead guy said that he thought it was somewhere else so he started to back track. I was still talking to the other guy and began to walk backwards as they proceeded to come towards me. It was just a natural reaction, trying to keep the six feet distance rule. And then I hit the cart behind me with the back of my calf and began to fall backwards.
Thankfully, I thought to bend my knees, so I did a hard sit on the cart. I swear that cart had shocks because I felt nothing. Just felt a little sheepish.
It was afterwards in the parking lot that it occurred to me that wearing a facemask helped protect what little dignity I had left. It will make it hard to identify who I was, unless they already knew me.
