My current mattress is too firm. It wasnt causing me any problems when I first got it, but now after 10 years my body is rebelling.
Ive been thinking of the Casper mattress. Ive heard good things about them. Does anyone have one?
Anyone have a mattress they would recommend and why?

(14,860 posts)I've slept so much better, and awake without the usual aches in my back and shoulders!
That old firm mattress didn't bother me when I was younger, but caused discomfort over the last couple years.

I need a very soft mattress, if foam it has to be very very soft.
Mattress toppers are good. Costco

(63,221 posts)I have a very old mattress and bought a memory foam topper which was really nice for a while, but it has to be rotated periodically. It's still not as good as a nice pillow-top mattress that I have slept on in good hotels, but it definitely helped.
I am also looking at buying a new mattress and I think it's just time that I go for it and get the plush pillow top. I don't like firm mattresses and I sleep like a baby on the pillow tops. There is such a difference. It's an expense, but one that I think will make a positive overall difference in my quality of life.
There is a mattress store here in my city that is having an amazing sale and they have financing available. I am thinking of paying most of it upfront and financing the rest which won't take long to pay off. You should look into local sales and discount places to see if they offer the same deals. There is nothing more precious than a good night's sleep and I tired of being deprived of one. You can get good name brand mattresses for half price if you find the right place.

(23,366 posts)I ended up sleeping on it more than any guests we had because my husband snores. I liked that mattress so much that I bought one for our master bedroom and one for my teenage son as well. I would buy another one tomorrow. You dont have to flip them which is great. Casper recommends rotating the mattress every six months or so which is no big deal. I have a feather bed on top of the mattress in our master and one in my sons room as well because the men in my family like a little bit softer bed. Its a perfect combination.

(23,875 posts)Does it keep you cool ?
MontanaMama
(23,366 posts)so I guess I dont know if its me or the mattress. My husband has always been a hot tot but he has never complained that this mattress is hotter than the pillow top Denver mattress that we had before the Casper. Keep in mind we live in Montana so other that half of July and August, its fairly cool here.

(4,666 posts)I love it! Was skeptical about the whole mattress rolled up in a box thing, but its been great. It was super easy to set up.
I like a soft mattress and this one is soft from the memory foam layers on top, yet firm enough underneath for support. When you lay down, you sink down in, slowly, for a minute or two. Its very comfy, and I havent had any back pain in the morning like with my old mattress.
The price cant be beat! Got mine on sale for under $300, which made me nervous about quality, but Im very satisfied. And no kids were in the box.
2 Edits: Oops! Just noticed I posted pics of the medium firm model.
Removed pics and added correct pic of the Plush Hybrid mattress.
Mine is the 12 Plush Hybrid:

(29,732 posts)We've had this for 2 years now and we still love it. Their warranty is fab and their service is really great. We had a defective mattress and I called and they honored their warranty without hesitation and we had our new mattress in a matter of days.
My friend bought one the other day and she is totally in heaven. She got the queen luxury firm. If you buy, we both get a referral gift.

(44,981 posts)Well, it wasn't defective until my elderly cat peed on it. I am not going to buy anything until the cat goes to heaven, otherwise the same fate is awaiting a new mattress. I don't doubt the cat will pee on whatever new mattress I purchase-he is not very picky, although her prefers soft.

(20,249 posts)The first one I got was so much more comfortable than the inner spring mattresses I'd had in the past, but I ordered a medium firmness and it was a bit too soft. I had to kind of roll out of bed in the morning. This time I got a medium-firm firmness and it's pretty good, but I wish I'd gotten a 12" thickness instead of just 10". Maybe I'll get a topper. I just can't afford an $1800 mattress like the Casper. Anyway, this is the one I got:

They sell them at Home Depot and Wayfair too, so shop around. One thing I've found with Overstock is that if you register with your email and put something in your cart without buying it, they'll usually send you a coupon.

(91,003 posts)...the only drawback I can think of is the way it stores heat in hot weather tho based on current tv ads, they may have a fix for that.
I have fibromyalgia. If Id known then what I know now, Id have ditched the egg crate toppers I bought for my too-hard Sealy, and figured out some way to afford the Tempur-Pedic.
Finally: shop around for the best deal. Our best deal turned out to be a tv offer that had a 6 month return policy. Theres also the generous warranty period save your receipts in a safe place.

(12,692 posts)About equivalent to a Casper, they have a 20 year warranty.
They are also very firm on the edges. One issue with them - they're built for heavier couples; comfort range per person is about 160 lbs to 300 lbs; they're a bit too stiff for lighter people, but better the heavier one is.
We just got a Standard King matress for $1k, on a $250 sale, delivered free.
So far, it's very comfortable, even for an old arthritic like me.

(7,746 posts)I was waking up with pain under my rib cage and stiffness in my back causing me to have mobility issues upon getting out of bed. So far, things are slowly improving only after 2 days. I don't have much luck with normal mattresses as they only last me 4 years before losing support. I'm not sure how long this topper will last, but I hope it's longer than a normal mattress.
By the way, most memory foam mattress toppers need 24-48 hours to expand and inflate to it's proper size before sleeping on them, so keep this in mind if you decide to go this route.
