or bottle of water that you purchase. Then, when you return the empty can or bottle to the recycling center, you get your 5 cents returned to you.
I usually return my cans and bottles two or three times a month.
I've been in a self-imposed quarantine (mostly) for 114 days now.
As a result, I have not returned any cans or bottles during this period, and they are accumulating in huge trash bags in my basement.
Based on the number of bags that I have, and the average weight of each bag, I calculate that when I do return the cans and bottles, I will get a nice payout of approximately $3.9 million.

(3,169 posts)At 20 cans per dollar, 3.9million is 78 million cans. I strongly doubt you could drink that much in 114 days. Or have enough room to store them.
