She and her big friends clearly have a strong rapport. But it's not the most interesting part was when she moved out from under the elephant and in the elephant repositioned itself to be over her, like she was the animal's pet.

Such wonderful gentle critters

that's where baby elephants tend to stand, for protection.

Must admit to being envious of anyone who gets to the spend their time and love with elephants.

5. Ms. Lek runs an elephant rescue in Thailand

These were trained elephants used for the tourist trade in the lowlands. The pandemic has killed off the tourist trade and the keepers were unable to feed them properly, so Ms. Lek and some of the owners are going to highland villages where they can be used for other work and where food is plentiful.

BBC had a nice film of some of the other people taking their elephants home. Sadly, not all of them are being well treated, some are chained and starving, waiting for tourists to show up, but Ms. Lek has been collecting funds to rescue them, too. Owners aren't trying to be cruel, everybody's hungry these days without the tourist trade.

You bet these big critters love her. It's returned.

over her. I'm sure they are very aware of every step and scrupulously avoid stepping on helpless little people, but they are soooo BIG!
