In the local (central KY) Walmart this morning, it seemed to me that virtually no men were wearing masks (except the employees), while most of the women were. No doubt this would prove something profound if the sample pool were more diverse.

(4,438 posts)About 80% of shoppers were wearing masks. Of the 20% of shoppers who weren't wearing masks almost all of them were men. I think I only saw two women who weren't.

(2,036 posts)Higher end grocery (more reliable for milk, eggs and meat): lots of masks
Regular grocery (for dry goods at better prices): *many* fewer masks, mostly worn by women and non-whites

(14,642 posts)Mostly women shopping and only a few wore masks... one on her chin. One man, plus my husband and the cashiers, wore a mask. One of the women without one had one of those tacky flag t-shirts on. I am beyond disgusted by the stupidity of the people around here.

Will only shop where masks are required - Costco, local produce market, and maybe one where employees wear them more consistently.
I appreciate that they are thinking of customers' safety.
