Getting screwed by Amazon, continued.

The continuing saga of Amazon trying in every way they know to screw me over. I just got another email from amazon saying that they will not unlock my account until I pay them $500 for more of the fraudulent orders that were paid electronically that they never bothered to cancel even though I confirmed the same evening that ALL orders placed on 12/28 were fraudulent and they confirmed that they had cancelled all of the orders.

I'm sorry, but whether overtly or in a 'wink, wink, nod, nod' they are trying to defraud ME! Now I have one Amazon department telling me they are 'still investigating and working with my credit card company' and another department telling me I will never get my account back unless I pay them $500 for orders I never placed, never saw, and it looks like they were for extended warranties on Apple Smart Phones that we ordered and that WERE cancelled. So God knows how much I would be expected to pay Amazon before my account is restored. And I guess that I will never see all my Kindle books that I have bought over the years that I no longer have access to.

I have so far filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Protection Agency, written actual letters to three top executives at Amazon, and am raising a stink on Facebook and Twitter. I probably will never get my account back or gain access to all the Kindle books I have bought over the years, but I will keep harassing them and spreading the news far and wide for as long as I draw breath!

See if you have on your local news something like
Komi news 4 in Seattle has called problem solvers with Connie” you send them the information of the problem if they do your story they make calls etc and generally have much better results then the average person.
Also no matter what keep copies of all the communication you do with everyone esp Amazon.
You can quote back to them with things like
“Well Fred in your fraud Dept said such and such date” and I have your emails showing you cancelled everything and it would all be taken care of.
I hope everything works out well for you it’s not nice to be screwed over twice first by a criminal and second by a company that it sounds like up until this you had been happy with.

While this situation plays out of you haven’t done it yet. If you are able to check with your local library.
Many libraries have where you can use an app to down load books on to tablets ( if it’s just a kindle & not a kindle fire a little more difficult but doable
Also many have where you can download movies all with just a library card🙂that helps with the book and movie part as for shipping Walmart although not as abundant as Amazon has free ship I believe even if it's not two day.)

They have a connection to Hoopla so yes we can get movies from the library (Currently we are binging our way through 'Death in Paradise' - great series if you haven't seen it.) Getting Kindle books from the library was more problematic, since they evidently in order to figure out who to send the loan to a particular device they need to check how my device is registered on Amazon, and since my account is locked they couldn't. We got around that particular annoyance by getting to Amazon via Talking Books which was bought by Amazon several years ago. So my wife discovered that she had an Amazon account that we had never used, but managed to register my Kindle on her account, which with a little dancing around and ingenuity, allowed me to get Kindle books from the library again.

I don't particularly care for WalMart, but the have the best pet prescription prices around, including insulin. The cheapest insulin at out people pharmacy is almost $100/vial. WalMart has it's least insulin at around $25. We had two diabetic dogs. We lost the one last Summer at the ripe old age of 16 and had been a diabetic for about 9 years do the insulin worked. Currently we have only one diabetic dog. He's a rescue and he came to us with diabetes over 5 years ago. And they have Apoquel, which is for pets with allergies at about half the price of what our vet charges. So, yes I do shop at WalMart occasionally.

To finish the download you have to log into your Amazon account.
But if it is a kindle fire or another type if tablet
You don't need the kindle app at all just overdrive or Libby. No Amazon necessary.
Once again I will wish you the best.
Let us know how it all turns out.
Early today I was quizzing my husband with the 20 questions on something. He asked me why I asked so many questions.
I told him that's how I learn so I can help others who might have the same problem.

I'm checking with my local newspaper (Cincinnati Enquirer) and will check with the local TV stations as well. Gotta be some young sprout of a reporter who would love to make his/her bones going up a behemoth like Amazon.

to Jeff Bezos. Explain your saga. I'm not saying he'll read it but emailing the higher ups at amazon after exhausting the reasonable options with normal channels can be successful. Good luck. I am serious with this suggestion.

I sent a actual letter (you know, the kind with a white envelope and stamp) via USPS just yesterday. He was actually cc'ed in the letter, which was sent to the EVP of North America Operations and Customer Service.

So yes, it yet another way that I am doing everything I can think of (and everything all these wonderful DU's can think of as well).

with my weasel bank, Wells Fargo. Someone took all the funds out and purchased tickets for a comedian in Las Vegas. Bank acted like I did it, even though I just paid off my hotel room in Kentucky.

So, when we got home , we contacted our regular news, talked about visiting our son in college , out of state. How the bank didn’t believe us.

The day after it aired, it got hit up to Executive [a thing?), and got our funds back that night.

Blow them up. No shame. I will help you anyway I can.

Why doesn't your credit card company refund disputed charges? Especially when you can prove it?

11. My experience here.

Amazon refunded me for an item I'd purchased and had not returned. I contacted them of the error, and within a few hours they'd locked me out of my account. Many calls to customer service, and the supposed email links to restore my 20+ year account lead me to zero resolution for 2 weeks.

Ditch the customer support and go directly to fraud resolution. First, be extremely polite and act like you know what you're doing. This is key to getting my method to work. Ask the person at customer support to connect you to the fraud resolution department. They'll balk, but be firm and say you've done all the CS things and fraud resolution said your case is theirs now and you're to ask for them. Ask for a supervisor when it goes south, and it will. They'll actually give you one and then repeat your issues. You may be transferred more than once within CS, BUT finally you'll land a person within fraud resolution. Once there be sad about your lost account. Not angry, but point out how you depend on it for (XYZ) and how you'd hate to lose access to it because blah, blah, blah. Explain your grievances clearly and get your refund.

Basically, fraud resolution is a much higher pay grade and they're much more helpful. They literally fixed me up once I had a direct line to them within an hour.

Weird aside. They never resolved the return I'd not made, and when all was said and done I was scared to push it. I just kept the item they'd accidentally refunded me for. I still feel a tad guilty, but then I remind myself my attempts to do the right thing cost me hours of my time and more than paid for the item.

Good luck in your battle.

I need to call CS tomorrow anyway, since for reasons that I have no understanding of, me email client decided to delete the email saying they would never open my account again until I pay them around $500, so I have to try and get a resend of the email. I'll give your plan a try.

I am always very polite and reasonable when, in effect, making a complaint. You catch way more flies with honey than with vinegar - until you can't and then I become a person you really don't want to mess with.

If not for them I'd have never figured any of this out. Apparently, once an account goes south, they're the only ones who can fix it. Not general customer service. It's literally outside CS pay grade.

I wish you the best of luck. Be firm, but polite with the lower CS. Once you reach a supervisor it gets much easier!
