(4,858 posts)...I dunno if this is good or bad...
I did not want to click in the tweet and risk more questions, and an even higher score.

(12,132 posts)we were teenagers smoking weed and we had a shotgun circle going (Reverse the joint in your mouth and then blow the smoke into next person's mouth.) We were already pretty high and we both leaned in too close and touched lips. Not sure if it counts as a kiss but I kinda liked it. I never told anybody that before. Not sure if anyone else there even noticed. But he and I did.

(38,311 posts)I might add some things to the list -- good, bad, and ugly.
Nudity: Swimming in the ocean, running through the snow, posing for a portrait... naked.
Sleeping rough: not camping, not sofa surfing... no secure bed for the night.
Medical adventure: Ambulance ride, hospitalization, broken bones, surgery...
Riding the wind and waves: Sailing, gliding, surfing...
Would anyone like to add some more? (I'm leaving out parenting because that's an entire book in itself.)

(38,311 posts)Religious warfare is my family's favorite sport. As a kid I witnessed my mom fighting with bishops.
My wife and I had a Big Catholic Wedding and my greatest fear the night before was that my family would cause trouble.
Fortunately everyone was reasonably well behaved. The only scandal was that my grandfather did not attend. He was upset that I was marrying, in his words, "A Mexican girl." The men in his family simply didn't do that. To his credit, he got over it.

(38,311 posts)The only religious belief any adults in our family could agree on was that they were not Mormons.
Three of my grandparents grew up "not Mormon" in the heart of Mormon territory. There was actually a niche for not-Mormons in that society. Who else are you going to buy your booze and French postcards from?

(38,311 posts)... as constant aches and pains, tinnitus, bad knees and hips, nightmares... stuff that wakes me up in the middle of the night.
If I could go back in time I'd tell myself "Don't do that!" but plenty of other people were telling my younger self "Don't do that!" and I wasn't listening. I'd have ignored my older self as well, foolishly confident that I could change the timeline.
I was recently thinking how my wife was the only girlfriend I ever brought to my parents. Looking back I wasn't afraid of their disapproval, I was afraid they'd warn me I was in for a world of hurt. And they would have been right.
Bloody as it was, my worst breakup wasn't with the woman whose moving car I jumped out of.
During a hiatus in that relationship I met a young woman in one of my classes and we'd study together in the library, eat lunch together, play footsie under the table, hold hands, and shared a few quick kisses. (That was as sexual as it got.) I soon learned she'd married a Christian Fundamentalist guy when she was 17 and they'd separated when she decided to go to college against his wishes. We never discussed it further.
She told me during finals she was quitting school and going back to him. I was absolutely devastated and I sat on a bench in front of the library for many hours. People passing by would ask me if I needed help.
I still feel it as I write this near forty years later.
