I was gaming and time got away from me, it got late and I'z hungry and felt like pizza.
Gotta say, for a big franchise pizza joint, it was NOT BAD pie. I got a real basic meatball medium pizza (sauteed up some veggies to throw on top myself ... hate paying for high-margin toppings I have sitting in my fridge) but it was on special for 6.99 and it was pretty heavy and big for 6.99. LOTS of cheese, almost too much, but it tasted like good quality. It had a nice crust, and good sauce flavor, meatballs were good too.
And the $7.99 10 piece chicken nuggets (they're big nuggets) were pretty high quality as well and seemed minimally processed.
I could eat < half the pie and < half the nuggets and was stuffed. With delivery and good tip it came out to like $20. Not bad at all.
Delivery was pretty fast even though the guy at the store called me (nice touch) after I ordered and told me he was slammed and had only one driver ... he warned me it might be >1 hour but food came in just under an hour and everything was hot. They were out of salad though (which is the only reason I got the chicken), but at 10pm I guess that's understandable. The salads look good in the pics, and only I think $5.99 for a grilled chicken Caesar is NICE. So I'z disappointed on that front, but ... next time.
They also give free dipping sauces like ranch w/your pizza, unlike competitors.
Give it a solid 4.5/5 ... but that's FOR WHAT IT IS. They totally smoke Domino's and PoopTheJohn's. And don't even get me started on Pizza Hut ... worst pizza ever. Rather have Little Caesars given it's cheaper.

(27,119 posts)Our regular pizza joint is family owned, doesn't keep late hours, so a good late night alternative is good to know about!

(33,643 posts)I found them on DoorDash but cause they're a big chain I figured they likely have their own site and delivery ... turns out they do. And their site works great, and delivery is cheaper that way cause no DoorDash fee.
Not sure if it exists near where you live, but they're definitely in Mesa ... near the 60 and Superstition Springs Rd.
Think they're up til 11pm IIRC, at least on Sat Night.

(31,997 posts)Never had Marcos but might give them a try now.
Little Caesars isnt bad at all for the price, IMO.
Agree Pizza Hut is bad. They used to be pretty good years ago.
In my area we have lots of small chains and family owned pizza places and those are generally the ones I stick with.

(33,643 posts)And mind you I've never had ANYTHING there cept a $5 "hot and tasty" pepperoni ... it's not terrible if it's FRESH out the oven, and you eat it QUICKLY afterwards.
IMHO, they have a terrible shelf life, and leftover LC's is god awful.
But a real fresh slice (like, eaten in your car on the way home lol) is pretty decent.
They're kinda like the Jack in the Box tacos of the Pizza World ...

(31,997 posts)Like LCs deep dish and their Crazy bread. I can take it or leave it. Its not bad reheated, IMO
My fave is Brier Hill pizza from my home town childhood favorite place... but I do like to try new ones too. Pizza is a very individual thing, I am discovering!

(33,643 posts)I'm still all about Round Table (regional West Coast chain) Pizza cause that's where my daddy always took me on my weekend visits when I'z a little boy. In the Bay Area in the 1970's, RT was THE pizza chain. Well, there was also Straw Hat and Shakey's, but they weren't as good in our book. Wasn't any Domino's or PJ's or LC's or Pizza Hut or any of that garbage.
Over Xmas I discovered they got rid of my FAVORITE pie on their menu ... though they still have the ingredients, just have to order 'a la carte' now. It was called 'Smokehouse' and it was Pepperoni, Linguica (their Linguica is BOMB), topped with fresh tomatoes, scallions and warm BBQ sauce after cooking. Comes with Salami too but I always left that off, it's just TOO rich. SOOOO GOOD. Their Maui Zowie is also incredible. Only pie with Pineapple I like.

(21,871 posts)some pizza places don't have good crusts.... they are like cardboard...
There is a Marcos near me but I haven't tried it. maybe I should get a slice to see.
I Love Pizza

(33,643 posts)I definitely only eat the 'crust' part w/o the toppings when it's legit tasty, and theirs ... is pretty solid. It was fluffy on the inside, and perfectly crusty on the outside.

(9,722 posts)pizza place...knew the owner always got great pies, for a franchise place. Well we retired and moved to a little town in northern Michigan. Our local places are so much better, I forgot what a real pie was all about.

(34,661 posts)as well last night. Always a great pizza, plenty of Cheese, their Sauce has great balance and the crust is always done just right. Hey,little Caesars Detroit Crust(Deep Dish) is the best bang for the buck, usually pickup once a month.
Best Pizza in Vegas is Evil Pie on Fremont,or Old World Pizza on Craig across from the Cannery.

(2,217 posts)Theres a Marcos here in my town-been here at least a couple of years and Ive never tried it. I thought it was a little family owned type of place. We have a lot of pizza places in our town. Running joke on local chat sites is when a new business is going in that everyone hopes its pizza joint because we dont have nearly enough! I just told the s/o that were going to have to try it. And fwiw-I like Pizza Pizza (Little Caesars) thats what the grands call it. They love the crazy bread My all time fave pizza is from a little place in Bexley OH called Rubinos. Its been around nearly as long as I can remember, even as a kid, and thats been a good long while! I think its the best pizza in the universe!!

(3,628 posts)Which is both a blessing and a curse. If we want a pizza (typically, thin-crust with pepperoni and mushroom), it's easy to have a good one quickly. As a result, we probably order too much pizza

(2,111 posts)doesn't really set well with me, more than likely because I have had stomach surgery, and it is sensitive to what I eat since. However, lebowski friend o' mine, garlic dipping sauce I love! and normally pay between 50 cents to a buck for each one. The other day I was in Wally world and made a discovery, it's call "chef Antonio's garlic dipping sauce. sold right by the pepproni's pizza sauces in jars etc. $1.87 for a 12 oz squeeze bottle. Rocks anything out that I have eaten. Yes it is a garlic, butter pizza dipping sauce that is chemically produced prolly. But there is a little xtra to this sauce,,its almost a honey mustard kick at the end. Told Mrs K that tomorrow, I'm going back to get 10 bottles, before dam Wally world decides to get rid of it!!!

(17,370 posts)When they first opened near us five years ago, they were quite a bargain, too.
But we don't buy from them so much now. They raised their prices considerably and we suspect they shrank the sizes of their pizzas, so they're not so great of a deal anymore.

(2,343 posts)We have one right down the street from where we live. We order from there all the time. Really too much. But it's so damn good!!!!
