Grandpa Brings Dog To Furniture Store To Make Sure She Likes Chair Too

"She's his little best friend"

BY STEPHEN MESSENGER

Believe it or not, there was a once a time when Aleecia Dahl's grandfather didn't want a dog at all — but now he pretty much epitomizes what it means to be a proud pet parent.

It all started the moment he met Coco.

"Coco is the dog Grandpa never wanted but cannot live without," Dahl told The Dodo. "They are the best of friends that he never knew he needed."

It's safe to say that Coco and Grandpa are simply inseparable. When not out and about town on some adventure, the sweet pair can often be found lounging together in their favorite chair.

Recently, however, that tried-and-true seating spot was put into retirement — sparking a search for a replacement that came with one very important caveat.

"When grandma and grandpa moved, they [needed to buy] new furniture," Dahl said. "It was Grandpa's requirement that the footrest on his lounge chair was wide enough for him and Coco to sit side by side."

So, in adorable fashion, Grandpa brought Coco to the furniture store to ensure what he bought fit her, too.

"He brought Coco into several stores to try out chairs until he found the perfect one," Dahl said. "Coco was always greeted with a smile, as I am sure it's not every day a man and his dog go furniture shopping!"

Coco, no doubt, appreciated the chance to weigh in on that big decision.

Thankfully, they eventually found an ideal fit for them both — a cozy chair befitting two sweet pals. Dahl's grandpa wouldn't have it any other way.

"She's his little best friend," Dahl said.
