Since the photos went out on social media, BeeJays popularity has been so intense that the vast numbers of people seeking more information crashed the shelters website, which Solomon noted was still down as of Thursday night.
Luckily for anyone interested in adopting him, more information about BeeJay ― and the rest of the shelters animals ― is still accessible via Petfinder.
And if BeeJays numerous fans and admirers online are any indication, hell have no trouble finding a home.

(101,699 posts)I was afraid this was going to be a horrendously obese cat, rather than a very large Maine Coon. In the former case, I'd think it irresponsible not to care for him under veterinary care at the shelter, rather than make any attempt to adopt him out.
But, this guy looks healthy and just BIG! LOL

(5,263 posts)that sucker must be 1/2 lynx or ocelot.
can you count his toes?

(101,699 posts)get as big as 25 pounds (males) and even common tabbies can occasionally be extraordinarily large-boned without being technically obese. Its face looks domestic feline to me and since only about 40% of Maine Coons have polydactyly, I'd still assume Maine Coon-Tabby cross.

(5,263 posts)feral and polydactyl, "junior" seems to be pretty smart as well.
comparing hr to my 12 lb Siamese mix i'm sure he must be 20 lbs or more.
the cat in the picture sure looks bigger than that.

(9,761 posts)Who has the more typical medium length fur and hes about 22 lbs. and a very long, big kitty. I always think extra big, long kitties must be partly Maine Coon.

(40,147 posts)The article says he is quiet, laid back, and sweet. He will surely find a new home.

(15,246 posts)He's probably carrying a few extra pounds, but he is undoubtedly a naturally 20lb cat. He's got to be at least 3' or longer stretched out.

(42,651 posts)she's worn clothing and a head scarf to complement the patterns and coloring of BeeJay the cat! It's subtle if you don't notice it, which is what makes it really good
