I didn't realize Boston was so far down on the list, but I guess we really are a pretty small city if you don't count Cambridge and Newton and all the suburbs.

I think that is Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area. Often the inner core city loses population, but the area grows as people move out. Cities like St. Louis wither while the suburbs boom.
May have time to look tomorrow.
