I try to keep my house lawn dandelion free, but the back lot is another story. I try to keep them under control but don't obsess on getting rid of them because I think they are pretty. The neighbors, however, aren't fans.

we don’t put any chemicals on our lawn. ... Dandelions pretty much stay in the backyard for some reason, we get a few out front. I think they’re pretty, too.

Where I live, off a main road and 3=acre lot, nobody cares about dandelions. Im glad I don’t live in one of those fussy developments where people obsess over their lawns and bombard them with chemicals.

One of them, apparently, doesn't like that I mulch lawn clippings back into the yard, rather than raking them up. Yea, the first couple of mows, of the year, can be clipping heavy, but once that initial big growth spurt ends, you can't even see the clippings (I have a mulching blade on the rider). It's a really big corner lot so there's NO way I'm going to do the back breaking work of raking and bagging.

And pretty much everyone gets their lawn treated.

If I'm not careful, my back lot can get pretty unruly. When I was still working, it was a very low priority but now I have no excuse to not take care of it so I do a weed and feed in the Spring. It doesn't stop all of the dandelions, which makes for a nice compromise.

Always one of the firsts because it winters over in its chrysalis and emerges with the first warm weather.

I was so surprised because I don't think I've seen one, this early after the cold departed. At least I HOPE it has departed!

I found myself sitting right in the middle of the Painted Lady Butterfly migration a few weeks ago. It lasted about a half hour before they altered their flight path just enough to move away from my view. It was amazing!!
