Arya has been the ultimate survivor, using her enemies to her greatest advantage, taking their lessons and dispatching them along the way. What do you think?
Glorfindel
(9,747 posts)She could even, using her Faceless Men abilities, become either Jon Snow or Danaerys Targaryen and no one would know the difference. Except maybe the dragons, if they happen to survive. What an interesting prediction, RandySF.

(17,984 posts)It has to be Jon and Dan. Yes, I'm saying they get together somehow and both rule. Think about that: the north and south united.

(6,709 posts)And btw the north and the south (fire and ice if you will) are already united in the person of Jon Snow.
ProudLib72
(17,984 posts)And the east is united under Daenerys.
However, will everyone believe Samwell? It's been awhile, so I can't remember if anyone else knows about Jon's parents or if there was hard evidence.
shanny
(6,709 posts)Oh and I think Sam has the scroll detailing Rhaegar's annulment and re-marriage.
eta: Howland Reed also knows.

(12,344 posts)Sam told Jon that Daenerys killed his family in cold blood and pointed out Jon would have let them live. Also that Jon gave his crown to save his people, but Daenerys would never do that. Jon is really a good person, while Daenerys just acts good to gain power. They are incompatible.

(6,709 posts)Or the dragons, any of them.
Anybody notice, btw, how many of our heroes now have Valerian steel blades? Jon, of course; Jaime, Brienne, Arya, even Sam. And conveniently they are all at Winterfell.
ProudLib72
(17,984 posts)I hadn't thought of the Valerian steel situation. Jaime gave his to Brienne, right? But there was another sword made at the same time (melting down the big Stark sword). Who has that one? I'm getting confused because I read the books and they are completely different (did you know that Cat is alive?).
shanny
(6,709 posts)but he now has Joffery's, its twin. As for the ice dragon I think, like the night king, fire won't hurt it so only the valerian steel can. It's not going to be easy to get that close.
It is confusing. I do remember Cate/Lady Stoneheart, and that she waylaid Brienne, and then sent her after Jaime...and that's where the last book ended. I think Martin took so long to write them, and readers were so obsessed with analyzing them that he ended up dragging in a lot of red herring subplots just to throw us all off the trail: like the prince of Dorne who went to Meeren to woo Dany, and the young man--alleged to be Elia's not-murdered son and Dany's nephew--who invades the Storm Lands supported by the Golden Company and Lord Griffen (?) . To finish the books he's going to have to tie up a boatload of storylines and I don't know if he'll ever get it done.

(7,553 posts)It would be incestuous and you can't have that ... uh, never mind.

(29,098 posts)I could see them doing a quick rotation of faces of all the characters we think are still alive and ending with Arya. .That would be a really disturbing conclusion....

(56,829 posts)is that Jon will not tell Daenerys about his parental background and will sacrifice himself to save her and put her on the Iron Throne at the end.
Dark Horse - Theon Greyjoy - he was reborn in salt and smoke last season when he survived the wreckage of his sister's fleet at the hands of Euron Greyjoy, like the Prince that was Promised.
I have avoided any spoilers for this final season, so I have no clue if I'm right.
