So I got called for an open position I really want.
The person I spoke to last week said he would call me today at 10am(it's now 10:40am) to set up a time when his crew could set up a time to interview me.
I have his number...do I call him, wait it out?
Why can't things be simple, just once?

(112,620 posts)There may be other events happening (illness, business crisis, etc.) that have caused a delay in the phone call. I would wait until tomorrow at about 10 a.m. before calling back.
Good luck getting that job!

(4,338 posts)I work an overnight shift, and he does know this, so I want to get some sleep, but don't want to miss the call.
*sigh*
I hate the back and forth of wanting to show enthusiasm and being patient.

(4,338 posts)In my voicemail I very simply said I was checking in, hoped I hadn't missed his call.
He called back about an hour after I went to bed and the interview is set up for noon today.
Fingers crossed!

(37,648 posts)I recently got a new job. The interview and hiring (or not hiring) process was painfully slow.
It's hard, but keep the faith, keep your confidence. Good things come to those who persevere and wait.
