Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsWeather in AZ is freaking trippy today man ... 10 years I been here, never seen this ...
Usually rain here is very off/on, I've rarely seen > 4 hrs straight of rain.
And the sky is normally cloudy when it rains here, like you can see the rain clouds.
But today, since about 6am (8:30pm now) it literally has NOT STOPPED RAINING for any more than 2-3 minutes at most. Hasn't rained HARD, but there's been times it came down pretty good, but all in all it's just incredibly steady.
And the sky? There's no discernible clouds ... it's like someone sprayed the entire sky with Grey spray-paint.
And there's just been this steady, 3-4 MPH shifting wind, all day ... no gusts, but also never entirely calm. Just this slow, shifting breeze.
And it's freaking COLD (for Arizona) ... I keep expecting it to start snowing, though it's clearly not THAT cold, it feels almost like it's cold enough.
It really seems like a nuclear winter would feel.

(6,913 posts)In Eugene, Oregon, the grey sky rain is what we usually have. I enjoy visiting family in Flagstaff and watching rain fall from discrete clouds. Far more appealing to look at.

(11,009 posts)White, drifting, not bouncing off the ground.
Didn't stick, and only lasted about 15 minutes - I can't see how it was snow though, because it was nowhere cold enough, but it definitely wasn't hail.

(2,226 posts)About the snow of 67 with my kids. The whole town shut down and tunnels were made to get around. We are expecting more. Grey skies, snowed nonstop all night and day. Snowmaggeden. I dont like it.

(31,985 posts)Cold and rainy all day long
Some days it snows.
Multiply that by 5 months
And I would say Welcome to Ohio
I can imagine you folks in AZ must find that freaky.

(33,643 posts)This weather though ... it doesn't really happen here. It's just trippy on that account.
I actually love it (5 months of it, I wouldn't lol) cause it's like being back home. Too bad it doesn't smell like Oak trees ...

(3,396 posts)Yesterday it snowed for about ten hours. I dont think the temperature ever got above freezing. Today it got to 55, at least. I went outside without a jacket at one point. The snow was melting and water was falling out of trees so much that it looked like it was raining.

(33,643 posts)i mean damn, it's STILL RAINING ... in about 5 hours, it'll be 24 straight hours.
To people in other places it's like 'meh, happens all the time' ... but it really doesn't here. Not for the last 10 years, anyways. I was here, I'd remember it.
