I once sang with an ensemble at a Christmas gathering at a Spiritualist church. Throughout the entire program audience members were actively talking to..no one, at least no one we could see. Even afterward during a small reception, it was hard to hold a conversation with anyone because of interrupting spirits. It was one of the strangest things I’ve been involved in.
